On Saturday, I thought it might be a good idea to take down my Winter mantel & get going with something more Spring-like. My hope was that in decorating for Spring, I would send some good karma out there & bring Spring weather to us sooner.
That plan sooo did not work! Between Sunday & into Monday, about 18 inches of snow fell.
Anyhow, Spring has indeed inhabited my living room mantel even though it is still quite Winter outdoors. Sigh.
Surprisingly, I didn't have to buy too much for the mantel. I had the lamp, the bird cage & the clock. I had the sconce too. It was sitting in the box for almost a year, just waiting to be used for something.
I made the wooden sign myself, inspired by Pottery Barn. I purchased the urn, Spring blooms, birds & wire candle holders. All came from Michael's and with sales & coupons, I spent about $45. Not too bad being that my mantel is huge & needs alot to fill it. (79" inches long, 18" deep)
I am linking this over at Women Who Do It All for the Spring Mantel Party, at a A Stroll Thru Life for Tabletop Tuesday & Between Naps on the Porch for Metamorphosis Monday.
Wishing a lovely Spring-filled weekend to each of you...
C'mon Spring, I'm waiting for ya!
