Can I just say? Not so easy. I definitely won't be quitting my day job to photograph magazine layouts any time
I started with this rather pretty spread from Flea Market Style.
Of course, I wanted to switch it up a bit. Make it my own...copy, but not copy, if you will.
I don't think it turned out too well. I can see lots of things I should have done differently. Which gets me thinking...remember when Debbie had that party of all the "oops" moments? You know, the crafts & such that didn't turn out too well? Maybe she needs to have another one of those parties so I can enter my magazine copycat attempt. Just sayin'. ;D
I'm sure that there have been many more successful attempts than mine so you should probably head over to Debbie's Copycat party & check 'em out.
As always, thank you for visiting me despite my fruitless attempts at magazine photography!
First off, it is NOT bad, or an oops at all. You actually chose a really difficult one. Sure it looks easy, but this one is not. I have an oops one too, I have not shown it yet. It is not horrible, however, it is not my best. Practice Gina...I will do this again. I do love that you put your own twist on it with the colored buttons. KUDOS Kid you done better than you think!!
ReplyDeleteGina,
ReplyDeleteI like your version even better!
Happy 4th,
Cheryl
Me too, I think it looks great! I so wanted to join this party but just don't have the extra time like I usually do, I hope Deb does has this again soon!

I agree with everyone else Gina, I think it looks great! It's much brighter and happier than the all white one:) Very cute!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great project to copy cat! I love the idea of buttons and flowers. Very clever :D
ReplyDeleteGina- I think it looks REALLY cute...love the colored buttons...and while this LOOKS simple I think it is probably a lot more difficult than it appears! Sometimes those "simple" ideas are the hardest to copy! I don't think it is an OOOOPS at all- I LIKE IT! XO Diana
ReplyDeleteI would never have thought to use buttons in a vase, but it's actually a good idea. And I'm with everybody else, I like your colored buttons better than the original.
ReplyDeleteYour copy looks good to me. I love the colored buttons more than the all white.
