I really shouldn't be on this computer.
You see, I've got a mess in my house right now. Things are everywhere. I made the mistake of taking the Halloween decorations out & I'm overwhelmed.
Overwhelmed to the point that my daughter has a soccer game this morning & I'm not there watching it because my house is a wreck (and I never miss a game).
My big Math problem today is this:
When you decorate for Halloween, do you add Halloween to your Fall decor, or do you subtract Fall first, then add Halloween?
I think if I could calculate this problem correctly, I could get a better handle on this mess.
In an effort to show my work, here is my dining room table right now & it represents just a fraction of the total mess. (Oh, the Math terms are flying today!)
Any suggestions from all you wise tutors?

hahaha - As a retired math teacher, I jumped on this post to help you. Then I had to laugh when I started reading it. BUT if it's not too late, STOP adding and subtracting and run over to that soccer game. It will multiply the memories you'll have. Then when it's over, maybe your daughter will help you decorate and the work will be divided between the two of you. Now, RUN.
ReplyDeleteI add Halloween to the Fall Decor and if I don't have enough room for all the Halloween I subtract Fall. Then I add Thanksgiving in Nov and keep Fall until after that. Does that help? LOL...probably not!
ReplyDeleteSorry :( No formula. I make a big, giant mess. Drag everything out. Walk around fluffing it until I like the balance and put away whatever I didn't use. I am no help what so ever. I clean that way too ;) Which is odd, because I am pretty organized otherwise?
ReplyDeletePS-If your not "feeling" it. Throw the totes in the corner until you are in the mood. It'll go better. Trust me =)
I wish I had separate 'fall' and 'halloween' decorations to even understand this problem! (Note to self, must do more decoration shopping, lol).
ReplyDeleteI would take away some fall and add Halloween, and then I would take down Halloween on Nov. 1st and add more fall and Thanksgiving. ;D
ReplyDeleteI agree with Granny Goodwill! It will all be more fun that way!
ReplyDeleteHeres how to free up your day, do like me...I don't do fall or Halloween decorating, OMG how unbloggy of me! LOL I just have no room for storage and we have no basements here in Orlando. Of course when my son was little I had to and someday when i have grandkids I will....right now...nope!
ReplyDeleteCarol
I have more fall than Halloween, I just put out a little bit of the Halloween and add it to the fall things, that's my way of doing it!
ReplyDeleteI guess I'm not a big Halloween fan :)
Okay the answer is quite simple.
ReplyDeleteYou add halloween times the square root of fall. Then you divide it by the hypotenuse of a pumpkin. Your total is whatever you want honey because whatever you do will be the right formula equalling spectacular. Stay blessed!

I loved Grammy Goodwill's idea best . I don't decorate for Halloween, so I'm not much help. I love that wooden crate in the middle of your mess though and would definitely keep that out! Happy decorating !
ReplyDeleteHi Gina I would mix the Halloween decorations in with your fall ones. Love that bench in your dining room and love what your using as your centerpiece too:) Martina
ReplyDeleteHaha...I start early! I am moving onto Halloween now, and trying this year to incorporate the Fall in the same so I do not have to take it all down, then back up again. The only tear down was the mantel, and you know how much I love that job...NOT!
ReplyDeleteI've been enjoying all the Halloween decorations out there in blogland, but I just decorate for Fall. I guess I'm not much help, either.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Janet
Hi lovely lady.
ReplyDeleteI would keep the wood tool box for your centerpiece. You know you can mix Halloween with fall because of all the same colors does this help.
You can do it sweet lady just walk away, and come back you will have some new Ideas for putting this all together.
XXOO Diane
I add Halloween in October...then take it down and add Thanksgiving to my Autumn decor in November.
ReplyDeleteI always add Halloween decor to my Fall decor...It is easier, once Halloween is over, just to subract the Hallween stuff and leave the rest until I'm ready for the Christmas decorating. You are just too cute Gina. Hope you share pics when you're done.
ReplyDeleteHugs and Kisses,
♥Ana
I loved Grammy Goodwill's answer! I find I do less and less each year! I have bins and bins of stuff! I vowed not to buy anything new! So I guess I add to Fall with Halloween and then subtract it. I should start doing Cmas now so I can finish! But nothing goes up till after turkey day!
