Thanksgiving Turkey Tablescape

Every year, we host Thanksgiving dinner at our house.  Dinner is usually for 13 people. I always want to do so much with the table, but sometimes having enough of everything for 13 people poses a problem for me.

It is not a problem, however, to tablescape for my family of 4.

I started by using my matelasse as a tablecloth. Glasses from Christmas Tree. Green wine glasses stolen borrowed from my mother. Bronze chargers & pearl handled flatware from Target. Green flatware from Home Goods.

I bought these turkey plates at TJ Maxx a few years ago. At the time, I purchased all they had in the store, which was 12. I needed 13, but I bought them anyway. Luckily, the following year they had the plates again and I was able to buy another box. Now I have 16 altogether.

Green dinner plates are Better Homes & Gardens from Walmart. I have at least 16 of these in various colors (green, orange, eggplant). Napkins from Tuesday Morning. Wicker placemats from Pier 1.

The turkey is from Joann's a few years ago. The tray was a Southern Living Home purchase. I had the pinecone candle holders for quite a few years & I think they came from Coldwater Creek of all places.

I hope you enjoyed my Thanksgiving tablescape for 4. Now if I could only figure out how to set the table for 13 on Thanksgiving, I'd be all set.

Thanks for taking the time to visit me today.

  9. I have never had any turkey plates until this year and found a few like yours at Tuesday Morning and then the ones I used today at TJ Maxx. We have the same problem, we have too many for the number of plates you can find, but I went to TJ Maxx the other day and they had some fun white plates and had 24 so I just had to get them all! The crowd just gets bigger and bigger, but like you said, our family and smaller groups can enjoy them.

  15. I know what you mean...13, yikes. Sometimes with the large numbers it is hard to get enough space on our table for everyone, let alone making it pretty.
You certainly made this table gorgeous!

  22. This really, truly is a beautiful ensemble you've created! Rich colors, great fabric pattern, wonderful dishes...it's the whole package! I know what you mean about taking that chance that MAYBE the dishes will come out again the following year...it's always a gamble, and you won with the turkey plates! Good to have a few extra "just in case." Have a wonderful weekend!

  30. Gina,
I love your Thanksgiving tablescape. I wish I had known Target had bronze chargers or I wouldn't have tried to spray paint some gold ones! I love how you mixed your flatware and tied it together with a bow. It's precious how your children still love for you to put out their favorite holiday books.
