Well Ms. Stewart would be happy to know that her praise of blue & green has always stuck with me, at least subconsciously anyway. When I was deciding on a tablescape color scheme, Martha's words came to me and carried me off in this blue & green direction.
I wonder how Martha would pronounce the word, tablescape? Do you think she'd have some sort of elite pronunciation, like when she says marinod for marinade? Sorry, just thinking aloud. lol
Placemats & green salad plates are from Pier1.
Plaid napkins from Target.
Green flatware is by Cambridge and from Home Goods.
Napkin rings & bubble goblets from Christmas Tree Shop.
Green dinner plate from Oneida Outlet.
Blue dinner plate from local grocery store.
A close up of "Martha's neutrals."
I used simple hydrangeas for the table's center. I have had the table runner for quite a few years.
I guess you really can't go wrong when you use the colors found in nature.
Thanks for visiting today!

Your tablescape is beautiful Gina! Blue and green have always been my favorite colors. Stopping by from BNOTP.
ReplyDeleteThis table is SO appealing to me -- I love blue and green together. And now I'm wishing I'd gotten those placemats at Pier 1, too! The napkins rings are darling -- I must find a CTS soon!
ReplyDeleteThis is really pretty, Gina, I never thought blue and green could look so great together! Martha had some good advice! Love everything! The runner is cute!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
My favs...I just love the color combination. Such pretty photos too Gina! I love the picmonkey, that darn Shannon had to get us going on there too:) Hope you are having a great day.
ReplyDeleteBlue and green is one of my favorite color combos. You have truly created a gorgeous tablescape. I just love the placemats...so unique.
ReplyDeleteThese colors are so pretty together. Such a calming, simple design for your table. New follower and look forward to reading more :-)
ReplyDeleteWhen I was younger I liked red, then I moved into rose colored things, from there I moved into a white/cream/beige phase and now greens and blues. I understand the next phase is purple as in the poem "When I am old I will wear purple." Your tablescape is lovely.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty table, Gina. I love blue and green together, so calming. xo
ReplyDeleteGreat tablescape Gina!
ReplyDeleteQuite welcoming, and soothing color combinations.
Had to laugh at you comment about M.S.; I do indeed think she's find a fancy way to pronounce 'tablescape'!
After all.. my hubby pronounces peonies... pea-a-knees, and herbs are pronounced H-erbs.. thanks to M.S.!!
True story!!
Smiles :)

ReplyDeleteYour table looks really beautiful. I like those colors together.
ReplyDeleteI love blue and green together, I love your tablescape Gina, especially the napkins and napkin rings!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny, I always gravitate towards blues and greens! I love the popular grays and pops of orange but everything always ends up along the blue green line. That's okay. It's soothing. Your tablescape is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting!
I never really thought of it that way, but I guess they would be neutrals in a weird way. Blue, green and white together as you have it so beautifully displayed here represent sky, grass and clouds. They work together in nature and on your table, as well! Good ol' Martha. She also pronounces that "h" in the word "herbs." :-)
ReplyDeleteGina- That is a very, very pretty TOHBLESCHAPHE. I love it- the blues and greens are soft and lovely together- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteLove the green and blue!!!! Martha was absolutely right. Love your sweet runner. I think your dishes are just perfect. xo marlis
ReplyDeleteGina, I love, love your tablescape!!! Green and blue is one of my favorite color combinations. If you remember, I just used those colors for my front porch Spring decor. I love your placemats and the napkins and dishes are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteOh Gina it is so pretty, I had always heard that green was a neutral, but never blue. I can see it in your table though.....You have become a master Tablescaper!!

You always pull everything together so nicely, Gina! The blue and green looks really pretty!
ReplyDeleteI would agree that those colors are lovely together. I have been vacillating between blue and green for my new den major color. Maybe I'll just go for it and use both.
ReplyDeleteI love those napkins and napkin rings.
So pretty, Gina. Mine (and my daughters) favorite summer beach colors. Martha would approve & I could serve my cake there!
ReplyDeleteToo bad we don't live closer! Have a great weekend.

Those placemats are so cute, and work so well with the dishes and napkins! I have to confess that I am not a fan of MS, but she did not steer you wrong. You did a wonderful job!
ReplyDeleteI must say that Martha is right in this case. I love blue and green together. I've been eyeing those placemats at Pier One, and they just sent me a $15 coupon for my birthday so just maybe :o)
