Good morning all!
I believe it's time to get my little Christmas Home Tour rolling again.
Let's take a peek at my living room mantel, shall we?
It's kind of a funny story.
I convinced my husband into bringing some of the
Christmas boxes down from the attic
a few days before Thanksgiving.
I told him that the mantel takes me forever to decorate
and "maybe I should start a little early."
Well, after much moving & removing,
tweaking & retweaking,
sitting & staring,
then re tweaking some more,
I came up with this year's mantel display.
My husband looked at the mantel, and I can see that he's puzzled
about something. Then it comes out...
"I have a feeling that nothing on that mantel came
from any of those boxes you made me carry down from the attic!"
Busted!
Well, I did take those little Christmas trees from one of the boxes.
Does that count?
Everything else, I shopped the house for. lol
It wasn't intentional, it just happened that way.
Honest.
The wreath is a new purchase from TJ Maxx this year.
I saw it and fell in love with it.
Oddly enough, my husband said he really likes it too.
My husband's old sled from when he was a kid.
My Christmas Mantel 2013.
We are just 8 days away from the big day.
So much to do, so much to do!
Be back soon!

I love it and I especially love the inclusion of that sled. How special that his family saved that. Time is flying Gina and I am not finished shopping!!! Enjoy the holidays!
ReplyDeleteI love it! and that frosty wreath is perfect....too funny that your hubby took that much notice to the items that were not in those boxes! I have to get a few more pictures posted before the end of the week as well. Wishing you a great Monday my friend!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely howled with laughter, haha, so so funny. Husbands, they don't know what to do with us do they?
ReplyDeleteMantle looks perfect, no more tweaking love!
I am ready except for the menu and grocery, everything else is done - except waiting (desperately) for two packages, hoping they arrive in time is all.
Hugs and lots of holiday cheer.
Your fireplace is gorgeous and I love the mantel decor. The sleigh is such a perfect addition. Very pretty. I would love for you to link up to Inspire Me this afternoon. www.astrollthrulife.net Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteSo pretty Gina...love all the white with the pops of red!
ReplyDeleteYour mantle looks beautiful, Gina and I love that you shopped the house for it. xo Laura
ReplyDeleteI've just read a thumb in my blog sidebar saying: "Why every Christmas Home should use red" and the white and silver Scrooge in me thought "bah humbug" until I stopped by and there's a good way to use the red. This one! Well done and your husband's sleigh is a lovely touch that I'm sure will be treasured and enjoyed by your guests this Christmas.
ReplyDeleteWhen I finished my Mantel dear husband was saying "all is so nice. no need for the tree" ahahahahah and here he went with that agravated expression pick the silver and white container ahahaha
Merry Christmas Dear Gina!
You’re so funny Gina! I'm surprise your husband even notice. He's paying attention alright :)
ReplyDeleteI do love your new wreath. Your mantel is beautiful.
It was well worth all the tweaking.
Hi, Gina, your mantel is so beautiful, you really have the magic touch! Merry Christmas to you and your family. xo
ReplyDeleteOh Gina, the mantle is perfect! What a good sport of a hubby you have. I sure miss all that help. Good hubby's are worth their weight in gold.
ReplyDeleteI peeked in at your sitting room (swoon) !! That's too funny that you forgot about the tree. What a nice surprise. It all looks beautiful, Gina. xo
I LOVE it, Gina! That wreath is perfect in it's place above one of my favorite fireplaces in all of blogland. The sled is magnificent!

Gina, your mantel is very striking! I am laughing about your hubby bringing down all the boxes just for a couple of small trees!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas.
I think your mantel is gorgeous, the red just pops against the white!
ReplyDeleteMy hubs doesn't say to much but you can just tell he enjoys it.
Love it Gina! but how did he know what was in the boxes? my husband is clueless about those things lol. The wreath is gorgeous I would have nabbed it too and the sled and arrangement on the hearth...perfect!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.
ReplyDeleteYou have an eye for putting things together, and your décor is always beautiful.
Merry Christmas!
Gina, your mantel is so festive!I love your choice of red with white! You have the best ideas and a magical touch! Your husband's sled is a real treasure!
ReplyDeleteYour mantel looks so bright and cheerful, and I think everyone should have an old sled in their Christmas decor! I really like your neutral pallet throughout, and your dining room and sitting rooms are lovely. I have to chuckle, though. My decorating is completely the opposite of neutral, and you must have to wear sunglasses when you visit my blog....lol!
ReplyDeleteLove the clean simplicity of your red and white which is perfect for the season. How nice that the sled has that touch of red.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful Gina. I love how it's mostly white with a pop of red! The wreath is a beauty. Better shopping the house than the stores. lol!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
