A Thankful Giveaway

Hello friends!

Forgive me for having disappeared from blogland,
yet again,
but honestly, I was at a loss for something to post about.

Thanksgiving is upon us
and though I'm chomping at the bit to decorate for Christmas,
I'm trying to hold out until the day after Thanksgiving to decorate.
That has always been my tradition,
and as much as I'm being prodded by the blog world to decorate now,
I'm shakily holding my ground.

This past Spring, sweet Stacey @ Poofing the Pillows had a giveaway.
I was the lucky winner of that giveaway.
What did I win?

A subscription to The Cottage Journal magazine!

I have to say girls, I really did enjoy this subscription.
It's just 5 issues, but it's been 5 wonderful issues.
Here is the latest Christmas issue:

So much to see!  So much to love!

In the spirit of thankfulness that comes with Thanksgiving,
I have decided to give a subscription to one of you!

No jumping through hoops to enter,
(I'd love it if you followed me, but it isn't necessary)
Just please leave me a comment if you'd like to be entered.
If you are a no-reply blogger,
please make sure I have an email address to reach you
should you be the winner.

And that's it friends.
I will draw a winner sometime Thanksgiving weekend.
Good luck!

Thanksgiving Chalkboard and the Love of Pumpkin Pie

Happy November!

Can it really be November already?

Time sure does fly by.

I thought I'd drop in quickly today to share my
dining room chalkboard with you.
She's all set for Thanksgiving...

Although I'm no artist,
I had some fun with this one.

Mind if I share a short story?

As I was on my step stool, chalking away,
my husband yells from the other room,

"In the time it's taking you to draw that pumpkin pie,
you could have made a pumpkin pie."

Then upon completion of my "masterpiece" I hear,

"It looks nice, but it could have looked
even better if it came with an actual
pumpkin pie."

He's like living with a comedian, I tell you!!

The question now is...
Should I make him wait until Thanksgiving Day
for pumpkin pie or not?
Hmmm.....
