Cinnamon Sugar Twists

Sometimes...
you feel the urge to bake something sweet.

Sometimes...
you know full well you should NOT
be baking something sweet.

Sometimes....
you know you need to take off the pounds
you gained over the holidays.

Sometimes...
you just don't listen to that internal voice &
you bake something sweet anyway.
♥♥♥

Yeah, that's exactly what happened here!

Oh these are so yummy!
Crisp & sweet & so easy to make.

Here's the recipe:
(I pulled it from a magazine, but I have no idea which one.)

Cinnamon Sugar Twists

2 sheets frozen puff pastry, thawed
4 tablespoon butter, melted
1/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

Gently roll out pastry and brush with butter.  Sprinkle with sugar & cinnamon.  Cut each sheet lengthwise into 8 strips, then twist.  Place on 2 parchment lined baking sheets and press down ends to secure.

Bake at 400° until golden, 18 to 20 minutes, switching & rotating pans halfway through.

Makes 16.

And if you've ignored that internal voice
up to this point,
 go ahead & enjoy!

  4. Am embarrassed to admit I've never used puff pastry before but have always wanted to, so many recipes to use it with. This looks and sounds like recipe I could do without making hash mess out of it. Sure glad you shared this recipe Diane, will have to scope out the puff pastry at grocery store. Enjoy it for your family. The simplicity and short list of ingredients got my attention. I love goodies like this. Happy weekend

  8. Oh, Gina! Those sound delicious! I have decided that I should stop looking at blogs and Pinterest! I am developing a new and severe sweets craving and it is showing in my waistline. Of course, I still will have to try these - just one more treat, before the diet starts on Monday - hahahaha!

  11. You just said the magical word to bring me here ahahah "cinnamon".
I'm hopeless and since weather is so cold here (still) I love not only the scent but the hot taste it leaves.
The other day I baked my first cinnamon rolls... and no, there are no pictures of the ordeal as I wasn't awfully successful in my first attempt... of course choosing a hack for my first attempt wasn't probably a good idea. But I was craving like mad and in a hurry :)
I'll give yours a try. Thank you for sharing,
    Teresa
